Melanie is so devoted to her clients—“because of their trust in me,” she says

Just as she celebrates “the sisterhood we all have with each other at Urban Village,” Melanie says of her colleagues, she also celebrates each and every one of her clients.

Melanie’s been an industry professional since 2000. Her specialties are color, cuts, mens’ cuts and updos. “I love to work with all types of hair, my favorites are blondes and bobs!” she says.

“I’ve noticed people are starting to look a bit more styled before events, whether for a big bash like a wedding or just getting together with friends,” she says. “So stop in for a blowout, it’ll make you feel fabulous!”
Melanie passionately believes in continuing her education, which she began at Aveda. “I believe in ongoing education to better serve my guests and to continue growing as a hairdresser,” she says. She regularly attends classes and conferences offered by the best in the business, including Ruth Roche, Vivienne MacKinder, Nathaniel Hawkins of “Project Runway,” Charlie Price, Wachs and Wachs, Kurt Keuffner, Stephanie Brinkerhoff, Masters of Balayage, Behind the Chair, Oribe Advanced Education, various barbering classes and Vidal Sassoon.

Melanie always returns with new techniques for inspiring up-dos, for ensuring brunette hair color is low maintenance or for making blonde last longer. “I also love passing on tips to my clients about styling and products,” she adds, “so they can create versatile and easy looks at home.” Her favorite product line at Urban Village is Oribe, the luxury hair care that combines performance and sophistication.

When she’s not helping her clients look and feel amazing, she bikes, plays volleyball, loves cooking, and enjoys her time with her husband and two boys.
